Why this differs from a generic "keep or toss" list

Most online keep-or-toss lists stop at two or three questions and skip the hard cases entirely. This card is built around the six or seven items out of ten that a simple rule does not resolve — the sentimental box, the "might be worth something" pile, the gift you feel obligated to keep. Four specific edge cases are printed directly on the card so you are not improvising a rule mid-session.

How to use it in a real session

Print the card and tape it near wherever you are working. Pick up one item, start at question one, stop at the first question with a clear answer, and place the item in the matching pile. Move quickly — anything that takes more than 30 seconds to resolve is probably a question-five or question-six item, which is fine; that is what those questions are for.

What are the six questions on the card?

They escalate in difficulty: is it broken or expired, have you used it in the last 12 months, would replacing it cost more than $20, does it have a specific upcoming use, does it carry real sentimental weight, and would you buy it again today if you saw it in a shop. Most items resolve at question one, two, or three.

Does the card cover sentimental or "just in case" items?

Yes — four edge cases are printed on the card specifically for these: gifts, "might be worth something" items, "might need it someday" items, and seasonal items used less than every year. These are the categories that usually stall a declutter session.
